Design Midsummer's Next Bookmark
Every book deserves a beautiful bookmark, especially one designed by you!
We're feeling whimsical...
Opening Midsummer Books is probably the most outrageous thing I have ever done, but it has brought me such joy and reconnected me to my sense of whimsy - which is why I think this feels like the perfect theme for our first ever bookmark design contest.

So what does whimsy look like to you? We want to see your most magical, playful, surprising ideas.
From now until August 16, we're inviting school-aged artists to share their design for a chance to see it made into our bookmark of the year.

What we're looking for...
We love bookmarks that celebrate reading, imagination, magic, and creativity.
​​
And we really love color. Because when you misplace your bookmark (as happens), you want to be able to find it again quickly, and for it to stand out in your book!
Rules and specifications:
Please note: you are welcome to submit a photo or duplicate of the artwork, however, if a submission is chosen as a finalist, we will need the original artwork for final review. Thank you!

For hand-drawn submissions, download our template. Or pick a copy up in our store.

Artwork can be hand-drawn or computer illustrated. If you are creating a computer-illustrated design, save as a .jpg or .tiff file at a resolution of 300 dpi.

Artwork must be 3” w x 9” h, and be on plain white paper (no notebook or lined paper). The artwork will be scaled down to fit the bookmarks.

Artwork must be an original design by the student.

Artwork will not be returned. Select pieces may be hung on display at Our Mutual Friend to showcase the talent of our youth.

Students must include their name and phone number or email address (so we can contact the winner), and current grade level.
