Meet the author
We’re hosting a Philly ABCs storytime with Chris Wink, which honestly feels like the most Philadelphia sentence you could possibly say out loud. We’ll be reading together, celebrating all things Philadelphia, and sharing a joyful morning of stories for little readers and their grownups.
A Philly special
Philly ABCs is not your average alphabet book. This is not “A is for Apple, B is for Ball.” This is “A is for something you’ve definitely argued about parking near.” It’s a smart, funny, genuinely charming love letter to Philadelphia. The kind of book where kids get to recognize places they’ve actually been, and parents get to feel weirdly emotional about a letter page.
It's about all the things that make Philly Philly. The big landmarks, the neighborhood quirks, the stuff you don’t notice until you try to explain it to a kid. Chris has turned this uniquely Philly experience into something playful and totally kid-friendly.
The storytime itself will be relaxed, welcoming, and designed for little ones who may or may not sit still the whole time (we see you, and we support you).
Expect laughs, local pride, and at least one moment where you think, “Okay wait, this is actually really sweet.”
If you’re raising a Philly kid, or just raising a kid in Philly, this is exactly the kind of thing that makes it feel like a community.
Come join us.
No prior knowledge of the alphabet (or SEPTA) required.
