Let's make reading fun again!

A reading challenge with real rewards!

We’re inviting our readers to challenge themselves to read more, and to earn sweet rewards for doing so!

Spring Into Reading Bingo invites kids and teens to explore new stories, build lasting reading habits, and connect with some of their favorite neighborhood spots along the way.

Here’s how it works:

Stop by the shop and grab a bingo card. Each square has a simple reading prompt, things like reading outside, trying a new genre, or letting someone else pick your next book. As you go, your child can complete the bingo squares that work best for their reading style. Caregivers reading aloud counts! And skipping a book that’s not working is absolutely fine. Just because you start a new genre doesn't mean you have to love it or finish it; it's all about trying new things and being open to new stories to help develop a love of reading, not checking boxes perfectly. See full rules for details.

If your chiild/teen happens to fill the whole board (aka a blackout), we have something extra, because we love a little overachieving around here!

We’ve also partnered with some of our favorite neighborhood businesses to make this even more fun for the kids! Think boba tea, art supplies, and little rewards from places your kids already love. It’s our way of connecting books to the wider community and supporting the small businesses that make Fishtown so special.

At the heart of all of this is something we care deeply about: helping kids become lifelong readers, especially during the middle grade years, when so many start to drift away from books. Often it’s not because they don’t like reading, but because they just haven’t found the right story yet. This is our way of giving them a reason to keep exploring.

Need help finding that "just-right" book? We love making recommendations, especially to the readers themselves. Bring them in or send them our way, and we’ll help find a story they won’t want to put down.
